The sheer size of Canada and the friendliness of its population formed the impressive background of the 8th International WAPOTEC® Workshop held from 9th to 16th October 2011.
At Calgary airports participants were welcomed by the hosts and from there on the group travelled on “WAPOTEC® time”, a tight schedule that allowed enjoying the many highlights. A seamless flow of events was ensured thanks to the perfect organisation arranged before and during the event by Edith Martin.
WAPOTEC® distributors from Europe, Asia and North America could therefore concentrate on the contents of the presentations and the exchange of experience between colleagues and international experts. Exciting discussions never ended until late, borderless experience was exchanged and valuable relationships were built which is all typical for these meetings held since 1996.
After two days of intense closed sessions the group moved to Edmonton to see Terwillegar Community Leisure Center, a state-of-the-art installations equipped with the WAPOTEC® filters and operated with the full WAPOTEC®SYSTEM. Next the Fountain Park Complex in nearby St. Albert allowed experiencing insights on a newly renovated WAPOTEC® based installation. In the afternoon the World Waterpark at the Westedmonton Mall (the biggest indoor slide installation in Canada) concluded an exciting day.
Thanks also to Nadine Duiker who led the sightseeing program demonstrating not only sights, history and tradition in Alberta but also allowed insights into the Canadian Way of life. The return trip to Calgary followed the incredible route through national parks of the Rocky Mountains and included pool site visits at some of the high-end resorts at Jasper and Banff as well as an unforgettable excursion to Columbia Icefields.
Gerhard Weiss, General Manager of WAPOTEC® is pleased: „I am very grateful to see positive dynamics that develop when WAPOTEC® distributors from all over the globe gather and share their visions and successes with the group. Thank you all for coming and for your input!”.
